What is Panto?
Not your typical Musical Theatre Camp. Panto (short for British Pantomime), a form of Musical Comedy that has been a British tradition since the middle ages, developed partly from 16th century commedia dell’arte. Shows will be tailored to our campers and they will even help to write the story! Panto is a participatory form of theatre, in which the audience is encouraged and expected to sing along, boo and cheer. Panto’s are based on well known fairytales, set to contemporary music, and are FUN FUN FUN!!!
What will my kids learn?
Panto teaches students not only Musical Theatre skills such as singing, dancing and acting, but also teaches improv with the interactive nature of our productions. Pop vocal singing with the songs ranging from musical theatre hits to current pop hits. And with Panto, each show is tailor made to showcase our students skills, be it juggling, magic, gymnastics, stand-up comedy or other. The shows are built around their talents. Our students also learn stage direction, team building skills, collaboration, camaraderie, and confidence.
